Industry Opportunities

At StandUP Drama School, we are committed to helping aspiring performers take their first steps into the industry. Alongside our weekly training, we provide guidance on every aspect of building a successful acting career. Students have opportunities to perform regularly, helping them develop confidence and gain valuable stage experience. We host industry showcases where selected students can perform in front of agents and casting professionals, giving them the chance to be seen by key industry contacts. We also offer advice on professional headshots, showreels, CVs, auditions, and how to gain practical experience both on and off stage. Our aim is to equip every student with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to pursue their ambitions in the performing arts industry with confidence.

Choose your own pathway

As students progress into our Senior Classes, they are given the opportunity to shape their own training journey by choosing specialist pathways that match their interests, strengths, and future aspirations. While all students continue to develop core acting and performance skills, they can also explore areas they are passionate about through focused workshops and projects. Specialisms may include Period Drama Acting, Musical Theatre, LAMDA Examinations, Stage Combat, Puppetry, Practitioner Studies, Presenting Skills, TV & Film Acting, and many more. This personalised approach allows students to broaden their experience, develop specialist skills, and gain a deeper understanding of different areas of the performing arts industry, helping them become well-rounded and versatile performers.

TV & Film Classes

Our TV & Film Classes give students the opportunity to develop the specialist skills required for on-screen performance. Designed for both Juniors and Seniors, these additional classes focus on understanding how acting for camera differs from stage acting, helping students learn subtle performance techniques, camera awareness, continuity, framing, and how to deliver natural and believable performances on screen.

Our Junior TV & Film students explore a range of exciting projects, including recreating iconic scenes from popular films and television programmes, learning basic filming techniques, and developing their own original short films. They also gain experience in voiceover work, helping them develop vocal confidence, character voices, and narration skills for future showreels.

Our Senior TV & Film students take their training to the next level by working on original screen productions, including our own TV series created for YouTube distribution. Seniors learn professional presenting skills, interview techniques, and how to prepare and film effective self-tapes for agents, casting directors, drama schools, and auditions. Alongside this, they continue to develop their voiceover abilities, exploring characterisation, commercial reads, and vocal performance to build a strong and versatile acting portfolio.

Using professional cameras, sound equipment, green screen technology, and editing software, our TV & Film programme provides students with practical, hands-on experience that reflects the modern entertainment industry.
