StandUP is built on a simple belief: when a young person feels truly seen, their learning catches fire.
We create spaces where confidence isn’t an accident but a daily practice — whether that’s through the energy of our Drama School, the focus of our Enrichment workshops, or the care and consistency of our Alternative Provision. Every session is shaped by skilled tutors who understand that creativity and education aren’t opposites; they are twin engines that help children thrive emotionally, academically and socially.
Our Drama School is the beating heart of StandUP — a training ground for aspiring performers and a home for young people who simply love the stage. Students develop strong acting foundations, learn how to work professionally, and gain real insight into the performing arts industry. With regular showcases, performance opportunities throughout the year and direct links with talent agents, our young performers are seen, supported and set up for genuine progression. Our dedicated TV & Film class gives students on-camera technique, practical experience and confidence in front of the lens — skills that open doors both in the industry and beyond.
For parents, StandUP offers more than lessons. It offers reassurance. You get experienced professionals who understand additional needs, celebrate individuality and notice the small steps that often matter more than the big ones. Our tutors work with compassion and structure, helping students build self-belief, communication skills and resilience — qualities that follow them long after the lesson ends.

Our vision
As co-founders of StandUP Ltd, we — Tracy and Gavin Davies — share a passion for using creativity to inspire confidence, resilience, and opportunity in every young person we work with. Our journey began with a simple idea: that performance and education can work hand in hand to transform lives.
Together, we have built StandUP into a space where learning is expressive, inclusive, and full of possibility. From our thriving Drama School to our expanding Alternative Provision and Creative Enrichment programme, our focus has always been on helping students find their voice — whether on stage, in education, or in everyday life.
Our joint vision is to continue developing pathways that empower young people to thrive, not just survive — nurturing their creativity, confidence, and courage to step into their future with pride.
Our Story
StandUP Ltd began life as a vibrant Drama School, founded with a passion for performance and education. What started as a small local initiative has grown into a thriving community where young people develop their creativity, confidence, and communication skills through the performing arts.
Our Drama School has become hugely successful — not only nurturing young talent for the professional industry but also empowering students to believe in themselves both on and off the stage. We proudly offer LAMDA examinations, agent showcase opportunities, and industry workshops where students meet professionals from across film, theatre, and television. Each year, our performers take part in at least two major productions, including our much-loved annual Pantomime — a true highlight of the StandUP calendar!
Founded by qualified teachers, StandUP was built on the belief that drama and creative education can transform lives. Through our work, we noticed a growing need for confidence-building and communication skills within mainstream education. This inspired us to expand our mission beyond the stage.
Today, StandUP is proud to work in partnership with Essex County Council and Lincolnshire County Council, delivering high-quality alternative provision for children and young people who are unable to access mainstream schooling. Our tailored 1:1 tutoring programmes and creative learning sessions support academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and re-engagement with education.
Alongside this, we have collaborated with youth groups to develop community performance projects and designed online confidence courses to help students prepare for interviews and 11+ exams — ensuring that StandUP’s impact reaches far beyond the classroom.
